Strategy:
· The Teaching Learning Enhancing Committee identified the cross-cutting issues from newspaper.
· Plan & develop suitable measures to incorporate into the curriculum through various programmes.
Gender
In order to make the student aware of the major issues like dowry, antenatal care, menstrual hygiene, anaemia in girls, sexual and physical assault, child marriage, gender gap the following measures are initiated.
Ø Poster presentation
Ø Community outreach programs to create awareness on antenatal care, menstrual hygiene, gynaecological disorders, etc.
Ø Short video presentation
Ø Seminars on women & law etc. to ‘throw light on the brim realities’ faced by the women in society and how to overcome.
Ø Driving and self-defence classes to assess risky situation and navigate them effectively and boosting confidence and self-esteem.
Ø Equal opportunity is given to both the male and female students in programmes, activities, college union, clubs etc. to improve their confidence and inner strength.
Human Values
As per newspaper reports there is an increase in the number of Cancer, Heart disease, Stroke, Diabetes, HIV, Mental disorders, Covid cases, Anaemia, Malnutrition in Kerala, they are identified as major cross cutting issues to be addressed. Various measures are initiated to inculcate the culture of safe guarding human values.

B. PHARM INTERNSHIP
B. Pharm students undergo a one-month internship either at a hospital pharmacy or in the pharmaceutical industry.
Hospital Pharmacy Interns:
Learn about medicine arrangement, storage conditions, and labelling information.
Industry Interns:
Focus on learning Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), regulatory aspects, formulation production, quality control methods, and record keeping.
Internship Support:
The college assists in identifying institutions and obtaining permission for internships.
Faculty provides orientation before the internship begins.
Guidance is available throughout the internship.
Internship Reports:
Students prepare reports based on their learning experiences during the period.
PHARM. D INTERNSHIP
The Pharm. D internship is a crucial phase where students gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting. During this period, they apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
Here are the key aspects of Pharm. D internships:
Duration: The internship lasts for 12 months.
Specialties: Students are posted in at least four different specialties during this period.
Compulsory Rotations:
Ø General Medicine: A mandatory six-month rotation.
Ø Paediatrics: Two months of training.
Ø Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G): Another two months of training.
Services Provided by Interns:

Ø Detection and Management of Adverse Drug Reactions

Evaluation Criteria:
A score of 3 and above represents satisfactory completion for the issuance of an internship completion certificate.
If a candidate’s work is unsatisfactory (scoring less than 3), they continue the internship until preceptors are satisfied.
Both Pharm. D and B. Pharm internships play a pivotal role in shaping future pharmacists by bridging the gap between education and practical application.
