Mentoring
Mentor mentee system is the key tone session of Nirmala College of pharmacy, started in the year 2016. It focuses on the personal interaction of mentee with their mentor. This is introduced in the college to provide the students with maximum support regarding the challenges that day face during the academic year.
Aim
v Mentoring involves advising and coaching students on their academic and professional development, as well as fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for them.
v The purpose of this mentoring program is to foster the professional advancement of the mentees by relaying experiences and knowledge of mentors in the key performance areas of teaching, research and support service.
v To provide guidance, feedback and encouragement to the mentees as they develop their skills and competencies in these areas.
v The program also seeks to promote a culture of collaboration, excellence and innovation among the students.
v To provide psychosocial support to the mentees, especially when they face challenges or difficulties in their personal or professional lives.
v To create a conducive study environment where teachers and students can interact and learn from each other
Process
Each teacher is assigned with maximum of 20 students. The teacher provides a very effective mentoring sessions for their mentees, at least 2 interactive sessions in a semester. The teacher play a major role in identifying the student’s inner talents and direct them correctly through the right path by making them to join in various clubs that is provided by the college.
The mentor acts as the guide to the mentee where he/ she can open up if they face any academic related problems and the mentor maintains a proper record regarding the student meetings without revealing any confidential details of it. upon considering the importance of mentor mentee system the college started to provide an hour assigned for mentor mentee interaction.
