Nirmala College of Pharmacy has a well maintaining drug museum in the institute. The theme of the museum is to show some sort of historical development in various process of pharmacy and show various instruments and products related to pharmacy studies. Also give space to students to exhibit their creative charts and donate things to the museum. Students can get an idea about the traditional things we usually only see in books and website. Many original prescription mixing implements are preserved at the museum. The museum collection covers all aspects of pharmacy. Museum is located at the ground floor of the college, outsiders are also welcomed here to visit the museum occasionally.
Natural drugs are the treasure for pharmaceutical formulation and they are used to evaluate the pharmacognostical, phytochemical and phytochemical studies.
They are useful to understand the shape structure and orientation of different body organs especially useful in anatomy and physiology lab.
PHARMACEUTICAL WAXES
Microcrystalline wax yellow slab, Microcrystalline wax white slab, Ceracine wax white slab, Paraffin wax pastilles,
Candililla wax pastilles, Emulsifying wax non-ionic pastilles, Carnauba wax red lumps, Carnauba wax powder, Bees wax white pastilles
Waxes are esters of various fatty acids with higher, usually monohydric alcohols. The wax of pharmacy is principally yellow wax (beeswax), the material of which honeycomb is made. It consists chiefly of cerotic acid and myricin and is used in making ointments, cerates, etc.
FOOD DYES AND CHEMICALS
Neelicol brilliant blue FCF, Neelilake quinolone yelloe lake, Neelilake brilliant blue FCF lake, NFDC titanium dioxide,
Neelilake sunset yellow lake, Neelilake sunset yellow FCF, Neelilake tartrazine lake, NFDC red iron oxide 3017,
Food dyes are chemical substances that were developed to enhance the appearance of food by giving it artificial color. People have added colorings to food for centuries, but the first artificial food colorings were created in 1856 from coal tar. Nowadays, food dyes are made from petroleum.
STUDY OF SEDIMENTATION RATE
Suspension containing sosium carboxy methyl cellulose, Suspension without any suspending agents,
Suspension containing bentonite, Suspension containing sodium CMC along with sodium chloride
The ESR test measures the rate at which the red blood cells (RBCs), or erythrocytes, in a sample of whole blood, fall to the bottom of the Westergren tube. This process of "falling" is called sedimentation.
All thee dosage forms are displayed on the model pharmacy which make awareness among the students about the physical nature, packing, mode of labelling.
Flexible insulation with silver finish, Armaflex tape
Thermal insulating materials, materials or material complexes apparently resistant to thermal currents, are the general name for thermal preserving and heat insulating materials. Thermal preservation is to prevent heat from spreading or losing, whereas heat insulation is to prevent external heat from entering.
STUDY OF SHAPE OF TABLETS- DISPLAY OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF TABLETS
To know about the different types and structure of tablets.
SEMISOLID PREPARATION- CONSISTENCY
Cream, Carbopol gel, Sulphur ointment
Semisolid dosage forms like gel, cream, lotion, and ointments are useful for topical delivery of nanocrystals. The nanocrystals-based topical formulations contain stabilizers, gelling agents, emulsifying agents, preservatives, antioxidants, and humectants.
INDUSTRIAL FILTERS
Filters(0.45), Filters(0.22)
Speed control rubber washers
Innoculation loop
To know about different industrial filters in the pharmaceutical field.
Examples of glassware used for measurements include: Graduated cylinders are thin and tall cylindrical containers used for volumetric measurements. Volumetric flasks are for measuring a specific volume of fluid.
Herbarium is a collection store of plants in their dried condition. Plants are pressed, dried and preserved on white sheets for reference. The sheets with specimens are arranged in one of the accepted system of classification. Herbarium aids in taxonomical studies of different species.
CHARTS AND MODELS
Various Charts and models of body physiology are displayed.
