STUDENT SUPPORT & GUIDANCE PROGRAM (SSGP)

VISION

Kerala University of Health Sciences put forwarded a holistic Student Support Services that aims to shape up every student entering the educational institution under KUHS into a health professional who owns technical and social skills to perform various academic activities.

OBJECTIVES

      · To equip new entrance to become confident professionals, to overcome academic learning related difficulties, they face during the initial period their             graduate health sciences course under KUHS.

• To assist students in gaining knowledge about various scholarships available

        · The emphasis given in this programme is, focussing on holistic development of student by addressing their issues like:-

a) Academic & Scholastic Issues

b) Psycho-Social Issues

c) Physical & Reproductive Health Issues

PROCEDURE

      · The Nodal Faculty members detect early and preliminary intervention of issues faced by graduate students in different affiliated college of KUHS.

     · Guidance and Counselling are considered as an effective tool for early intervention of academic issues as well as emotional disturbances faced by students. Nodal officers will use guided counselling as an initial interventional strategy to help the students.

SIGNIFICANCE

     · To address the academic, psychosocial and health related issues & stress among students.

     · To improve overall performance of students.
